Ebere Okonkwo (Chairman) LLB. Hons (Nig) BL. ACIS

chairmanEbere trained at the University of Nigeria (2000) and the Nigerian Law School. He was called to the Nigerian bar in 2002 and qualified as a graduate of the Institute in 2006 and is presently an Associate of the Institute.

Ebere has worked in several law firms including Nath Epelle & Company [Owerri] Ivi Ijomah & Co [Kaduna], Dipo Onifade & Associates [Kaduna], where he was counsel in charge of debt recovery, property and facilities management Cell Sites Acquisition, and general advisory. He has a deep grasp of corporate litigation and debt recovery for banks and other financial institutions. He is also very well versed in complex property transactions, title regularizations and perfection.

He has also worked as Consulting Director of Immigration and Training with Cornerstone Education, a global Corporate Training Company based in the United Kingdom. In that capacity he has facilitated several training programs and courses in the United Kingdom for Nigerian clients in addition to some in house training programs on a wide range of areas.

He is presently lead consultant and President at Crest and Waterfalls Consulting a firm of Legal Practitioners, Chartered Secretaries, Corporate Counsel, Training and Change Management Consultants. He also leads Crest and Waterfalls Resources, developers and publishers of the revolutionary electronic legal research tool ‘lawchronicles365.net’.

He also leads in the Full Gospel Businessmen’s Fellowship international as a Chapter President.

Ebere is a disciple of Corporate Governance and Administration, plays and enjoys watching football. He is married with a son.

Chienye Nnenna Obiajulu (Vice Chairman)

vice-chairmanChienye is a member of A & E Law Partnership’s Corporate and Commercial, Regulatory and Institutional Reform team. She has experience in general International Corporate Law with emphasis on Company Secretarial Practice and Corporate Governance. She renders full company secretarial services to corporate clients including attendance at meetings, regulatory compliance and filing statutory returns at the Corporate Affairs Commission, she supports client Board Audit and Governance Committees preparing several corporate governance tools.

Her work experience has included supporting foreign investors investing in Nigeria in carrying out detailed due diligence and regulatory reviews, supporting partner selection and investigations and drafting and perfecting related agreements including local company acquisitions. Also she has helped clients accomplish trademark,patent, brand name and other intellectual property registrations.

She was part of the team that developed the first ever Freedom of Information Proactive Disclosure Manual; and Framework for developing an Information Action Centre in Nigeria. She has participated in the development of a Local Content Execution Policy for companies operating and competing for projects in the Nigerian Oil & Gas Sector.

She was part of the teams that have developed and implemented Learning programs on Public Procurement and Freedom of Information Act 2011 within Nigeria including implementing similar programs for Senior Judges of Superior Courts of Record, Sharia Courts of Appeal and Customary Courts of Appeal through the National Judicial Institute.
She is currently the editor of the firm’s bi-weekly e-newsletter. A member of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administration, UK, Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administration, Nigeria, Association of Professional Negotiators and Mediators, Nigeria and the Nigeria Bar Association; Chienye has a Master’s Degree in International Corporate Law from the University of Leeds, UK.
